Te Rarawa is holding an Iwi Summit in Kaitaia around the theme He Anga Whakamua - Co-creating our Direction Forward as an Iwi. The Summit will be an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and ideas about the future of Te Rarawa.
Many local and national Te Rarawa speakers will be there to share their expertise and wisdom as together we lay down a pathway for our collective development. The Te Rarawa Runanga leadership team will be present and available so that you can connect faces with the names of the many people that you have seen and read about. Some of the latest iwi developments and projects will also be discussed and highlighted during the Summit. The Summit is an opoprtunity for all of our ideas and contributions to come together as we develop plans for the future of our iwi. The Summits theme is 'He Anga Whakamua - Co-creating our Direction Forward as an Iwi' with four key areas of focus: - Economic Development - Environmental - Social - Cultural Speakers: Social Development Hilda Harawira, Pete Smith, Paul White Cultural Development Wayne Te Tai, Aroha Harris, Malcom Peri, Raniera McGrath, Noa Campbell Economic Development June McCabe, Manuka Henare, Maru Samuels, Hemi Toia Environmental Protection and Restoration Haami Piripi, Abe Witana This Summit will truly be a significant hui for the future development of Te Rarawa. The hui provides an opportunity to highlight our achievements to date, and look towards what we need to develop further. So, remember mark these three days November 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
