MEMORIAL TERTIARY SCHOLARSHIPS
MEMORIAL TERTIARY SCHOLARSHIPS
|
These scholarships have been initiated to assist and promote higher education amongst the descendants of the Iwi of Te Rarawa. The Scholarships commemorate our tupuna rangatira Tarutaru and Ruapounamu, who represent the qualities and characteristics of commitment, leadership and tenacity with which their descendants may also be imbued.
In line with the objectives of Te Runanga o Te Rarawa, preference will be given to scholars who descend from Te Rarawa, and can show active participation in their own Te Rarawa marae and hapū. Confirmation of your Te Rarawa whakapapa must be acknowledged by your marae or one of your kaumatua when you complete and send in a Te Rarawa Iwi registration form, or phone us to check if you are already on the Iwi register. The closing date for applications is Friday 26th October 2012 at 3pm. Please direct any questions regarding the scholarships to the secretary Michelle Kemp. Phone (09) 408 0141.
