JOB VACANCY: Financial Accountant

Te Rarawa are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant, to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

The Financial Accountant is responsible for the accounting operations of Te Runanga o Te Rarawa Group.  This will include, but not limited to, the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Runanga reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Specifically, the role involves:

  • Annual budget preparation and long-term forecast processes
  • Analysis of business, funding and investment opportunities
  • Manage best practice financial information systems, supported by an appropriate policy and practice framework
  • Manage day to day accounting needs of the Runanga including cash flow and treasury management
  • Management and preparation of annual accounts and financial statements to audit standards

Essential:

  • New Zealand Qualified Accountant with a minimum of seven years post qualification experience
  • Proven skill in NZ IFRs and leadership experience in competing audited financial statements
  • Ability to lead and inspire a small team of professionals
  • Successful track record of knowing and meeting all statutory reporting requirements
