Expressions of Interest for Independent Directors
Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa is the mandated iwi authority for Te Rarawa, representing twenty-three marae and approximately 22,377 affiliated uri from North Hokianga through to Kaitaia. Established 33 years ago as a charitable trust, the Rūnanga transitioned to a Post Settlement Governance Entity following settlement in 2015.
Te Waka Pupuri Pūtea Group is one of the principal subsidiary entities of Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa, responsible for holding, protecting, and growing a commercial asset base exceeding $90+ million. Operating under a four‑pou investment model, the portfolio includes forestry, farming, fishing, property, horticulture, and financial assets.
We are seeking experienced Independent Directors to fill vacancies arising from board rotations and resignations. Appointees will contribute to the Group’s strategic direction in alignment with the broader objectives of Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Strong governance experience.
- Sound financial acumen.
- The ability to contribute effectively to the Audit, Risk and Financial Committee.
- A Chartered Accountant qualification and experience in investment strategy are desirable. Director appointments are made by the Rūnanga Trustees.
