TE RARAWA IWI MEMBERS NOTICE
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR MARAE DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE MARAE DELEGATES
Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa wishes to notify Te Rarawa Iwi Members that nominations are now open for Elected Marae and Alternate Delegates to sit on the Board of Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa.
There are 23 positions available in total, these include one delegate from each of the following affiliated marae:
- Te Rarawa
- Te Uri o Hina
- Wainui/Ngāti Moetonga
- Rōma (Te Ōhākī)
- Korou Kore
- Manukau/Whakamaharatanga
- Rangikohu
- Ōwhata
- Te Kotahitanga
- Mōrehu
- Ōhākī
- Taiao
- Mātihetihe
- Waiparera
- Waihou
- Ngāti Manawa
- Waipuna
- Motutī
- Ngāi Tūpoto
- Tauteihiihi
- Pikipāria
- Pāteoro
- Te Arohanui.
Nominations
Nominations must be completed on the official nomination form, which can be obtained from the links below or the secretary by phoning (09) 4080141 or emailing elections@terarawa.co.nz.
- Each nomination must be signed by the candidate and one nominator.
- Nominations can only be submitted by Affiliated Adult Te Rarawa Members.
*This means you must be registered on the iwi membership database. If you wish to register, the details to do so can be found below under "Registration"
Election Information
Further details about the election, including the Ideal Person Specification for Elected Delegates and the requirements for nominations can be found in the links below. This information can also be obtained by phoning the secretary.
Nominations opened on 14 July 2025 and strictly close at 4pm on Thursday 14th of August 2025.
Where an affiliated marae receives more than one valid nomination, an election will be held amongst the registered adult members of the relevant marae by ballot box at the relevant election meeting or by postal voting.
Details of any required affiliated Marae Election Meetings will be published following the receipt of all nominations.
Registration
Te Rūnanga o Te Rarawa invites anyone aged 18 years and over and with Te Rarawa whakapapa, to apply to become a registered member to one of our affiliated marae.

This Members notice has been emailed to our registered members. If you or your whānau are registered but have not received this "Members Notice" via email, please contact our team on tatai@terarawa.co.nz or call the secretary to update your details.
Marae Election Meeting
If required, an affiliated marae election meeting must be held by Monday 22nd of September 2025.
Postal voting papers
If required, Postal Voting papers will be sent to those members who request them.
If your postal address needs updating, please email tatai@terarawa.co.nz. Otherwise, eligible registered Adult Te Rarawa Iwi Members may vote via the correct forms to be supplied at an affiliated marae Election Meetings facilitated by Independent Returning Officers.
